WATERTOWN, NY — The graveside service for Beverly J. McCargar will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, in Dexter Cemetery. Per her request, there are no calling hours.
Beverly passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, at home surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County. She was 90 years old.
Born in Syracuse February 24, 1931, Beverly was a daughter to Arthur and Ella G. (Luffman) Villeneuve. She worked at Chesebrough-Ponds as a factory worked for several years.
On January 18, 1954 she married Clifton E. McCargar. Mr. McCargar passed away December 17, 1983.
Beverly was loved by everyone. She enjoyed bingo with her sisters and spending time with family. She also enjoyed “Granny’s Attic” at Centennial Apartments, a venture which she also spearheaded.
Beverly is survived by her children, Michael and Patricia McCargar, Donald McCargar, Jeffrey McCargar, James and Tammy McCargar, Barbara Wilder, Patricia Brown (companion Mike Kizzer), Mary Myers (companion Ray Roshia); and her siblings, Dorothy (Jack) Knowlton of Saratoga Springs, Joan (Joe) Morris of Watertown. Beverly is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and 5 step-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Clifton, Beverly is predeceased by 3 children, Ronnie McCargar, Gary McCargar, David McCargar; and 5 siblings, Earnest Villeneuve, Donald Villeneuve, Joe Villeneuve, Arlene Wilson, and Sally Sanderson.
