WATERTOWN, NY — Bonnie L. Scott, 72, of Sherman Street, Watertown, widow of Bruce D. Scott, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, June 18, 2019, at her daughter Shari’s home with her family by her side.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Bruce Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in North Watertown Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.
Born Feb. 26, 1947, in Watertown, a daughter to the late Roland J. and Lillian Rolfe Charlton, she graduated from Watertown High School.
She married Bruce D. Scott October 15, 1966. Mr. Scott a machinist at the New York Air Brake, passed away Aug. 6, 1996 at age 50.
Bonnie was a cashier in the food service department at the House of the Good Samaritan and later the Samaritan Medical Center for 20 years, retiring in 2009.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading, traveling to the casino and most of all spending time and being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Amy Mannigan, Watertown, Shari (Marcus) Miller, all of Watertown, Heidi (Jason) Drake, LaFargeville; eight grandchildren, Brandon Tiberend, Joshua Chipley, Zachary Hare, Courtney Aten, Hillary Mannigan, Skye Martin, Grady and Arie Drake; her close friend and “Canadian daughter” Sharon (Scott) Parker, Watertown; four sisters, Janice (Raso) (Herbert) Waite, Black River, Gwen (Carl) Johnson, Arkansas, Sharon (Henry) Gebo, FL, Delores (Al) Courrier, Watertown; and a brother Roland (Bonnie) Charlton, Watertown.
Bonnie was predeceased by a daughter Brenda shortly after birth in 1969. Two grandsons, Logan Mannigan in June of 2018 and Bentley Drake in 2012. Three brothers, Thomas, Vernon and Carl Charlton, also predeceased her.
