Bonnie L. Thompson, 71, formerly of Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Bonnie L. Thompson, 71, Kissimmee, FL and formerly of Pine Street, Watertown, passed away Wednesday morning, July 25, 2018, in Florida.

Calling hours will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 30, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, at the funeral home with Rev. H. Michael Gaffney presiding. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.

Bonnie was born March 17, 1947, in Watertown, the daughter of Harry Edmund and Christine L. Baker Booth. After graduation she attended JCC.

On June 27, 1964, she married Jerry O. Thompson in Watertown with Rev. John Kelly officiating. Mr. Thompson died Jan. 21, 2003.

She retired from BOCES as a teacher’s assistant after twenty years. She then went to work for the Osceola School District in Florida for eight years before her final retirement.

Bonnie loved to go on cruises, cooking, dancing, and being around family and friends. She was a part of the Dance Club, Bocce Club, and many other clubs in Solivita.

Bonnie is survived by her son, Jerry O. “Jay” Thompson, Jr. and wife, BillieJo, Dexter; daughter, Shellie T. Fazio, Orlando, FL; four grandchildren, Joseph and Victoria Thompson and Brayden and Kyan Fazio; two brothers, John M. Booth and wife, Donna, Philadelphia, NY and Ronald E. Booth and wife, Nancy, Watertown; two sisters-in-law, Priscilla Booth, Watertown and Donna L. Booth, Dexter; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with her husband, Jerry, she was predeceased by her two brothers, Robert H. Booth, September 1, 2006, and Thomas B. Booth, March 7, 2018.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
