Boys & Girls Club SoZo Teen Center receives Taco Bell Foundation grant

WATERTOWN, NY —  The Boys & Girls Club SoZo Teen Center, an affiliate program of the Children’s Home of Jefferson County (CHJC), recently received a $4,080.00 grant from the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens.

Established in 1992, the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens is a public 501c-3 charity committed to inspiring teenagers to graduate from high school and become caring, educated and productive adults.

Through partners and programs, such as the Boys & Girls Club SoZo Teen Center, the Foundation has created a national focus to foster educational, career and service opportunities for teens. Funding comes from the generosity of Taco Bell customer donations, and the support of Taco Bell employees, franchisees and partners. The money donated was collected throughout 2019 at local Taco Bell
restaurants. Canisters were placed in the restaurants allowing patrons to support the program by donating their spare change.

The Boys & Girls Club SoZo Teen Center is a free drop-in center, located in the rear of the Marcy Building, 167 Polk Street, Watertown – just off Public Square. The Center is open Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 8:00 pm, and on Friday till 9:00 pm. Activities include recreation, computer access, games, life skills, homework assistance, and tutoring.
