Breeze Airways begins regularly scheduled service at Hancock Airport

SYRACUSE, NY – Breeze Airways and the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) celebrated the inaugural flight of Breeze Airways’ first ever regularly scheduled service at Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) this morning, Friday, June 10, 2022. The inaugural inbound flight of Breeze’s new service departed Charleston International Airport (CHS) around 6:30 am and arrived in Syracuse shortly after 8:00 am. The inaugural outbound flight of Breeze’s new service departed Syracuse for Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas, NV shortly after 9:00 am.

“Breeze is thrilled to be serving guests in Syracuse with affordable nonstop flights, bypassing airport hubs and getting them to both Charleston and Las Vegas twice as fast for about half the price!” said Breeze’s Founder and CEO David Neeleman. “The A220 offers travelers the widest cabin, highest ceiling, largest windows and biggest overhead stowage in this class, while still managing to burn 25% less fuel, with half the noise footprint of past generations and everyone loves to fly on it.”

Breeze’s launch in Syracuse adds two more locations passengers can reach via convenient nonstop flights from Syracuse – Charleston, SC and Las Vegas, NV. The low-cost carrier intends to serve the routes using their new Airbus A220 aircraft featuring 126 seats, including 36 First Class seats in a two-by-two configuration, 10 Extra Legroom seats, and 80 Standard Economy seats in a two-by- three configuration.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Breeze Airways to Syracuse,” said SRAA Executive Director Jason Terreri. “Our travelers now have an extremely convenient way to visit two of the country’s top vacation destinations thanks to their nonstop service from Syracuse to both Charleston and Las Vegas. Nonstop service from Syracuse to the desert oasis of Las Vegas pushes our destination map the farthest west it has gone in decades.”

Passengers and crew were treated to a party at Gate 12 of the airport featuring balloons, cupcakes, a decorative cake, and giveaways. A media event at the gate featured comments from Breeze Airways representatives, local elected officials, and airport leadership. The inaugural inbound flight from Charleston was given a ceremonial water cannon salute by the airport’s Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) team.
