Carol E. Pete, 76, formerly of Clayton

CLAYTON, NY —  Carol Elizabeth Pete, 76, of Monterey, VA, and formerly of Clayton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, at Bath Community Hospital, Hot Springs.

She was born in Watertown, N.Y. on July 22, 1944, a daughter of the late Harold Leonard and Helen Elizabeth (Marsh) Seymour.

On Aug. 4, 1962, she married Barry James Pete.

Carol in her younger years was famous for her gardening, canning and cooking and hosting delicious meals for her friends and family.

Her family was her life and she loved them with all that she had.

Her sweet personality and beautiful smile were shared with everyone that she met.

In addition to her husband, Barry, of Monterey, she is survived by a son, Barry J. Pete Jr. and wife, Tammie of Clayton, N.Y.; two daughters, Yvette Reome and husband, Bruce of LaFargeville, N.Y. and Yvonne Wimer and husband, Steven of Monterey; six grandchildren, Barry, Clifton and Joseph Pete, Tyler Reome, and Lucas and Brianna Wimer; as well as special care giver, Ann Puffenbarger.

She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Andrew Seymour.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Burial will be private in Clayton, N.Y., at the convenience of the family.
