BELLEVILLE, NY — Carol M. Worthington, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away under the loving care of her family on Aug. 6, 2019, at the age of 74.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with Pastor Nancy Russell officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Ellisburg Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the funeral home.
Following the burial there will be a celebration of Carol’s life at the Belleville Fire Department.
Carol was born Jan. 9, 1945, in Orleans, to Irving and Marion Cratsenberg Porter.
She married Robert O. Worthington on July 12, 1961, and together they began their beautiful family in February 1962.
Carol was an active member of the Mannsville United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her family teaching them everything from crochet to baking, playing bingo at the Adams Fire Hall and Turning Stone Casino, camping in the Adirondacks, gardening, reading mystery novels and watching her favorite movie “Gone with the Wind”.
Carol is survived by her 4 children, Laurie (Randy) Hemingway, Robert (Stephany) Worthington II, Lisa (John) Collier, Linda (Richard) Broadhurst, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren plus one due in October. Also surviving is her mother Marion Porter, 2 brothers, Jess (Carol) Porter, Randy (Chrys) Porter, 2 sisters, Vicki (Gary) Smithers and Robin (Tom) Ferlito.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert and her father Irving.
