CARTHAHGE, NY — On June 8, 2026, the Carthage Police Department arrested Harley P. Sanders, 51, Carthage, NY.
Sanders is alleged to have entered the PETAwatt building located at 695 West End Avenue and stole scrap metal belonging to Northstar Auto and Salvage, police said.
Sanders was charged with one count of burglary in the third degree, which is class D felony and Petit Larceny with is a class A misdemeanor.
Sanders was arraigned in Jefferson County Centralized Arraignment Parts Courts where Sanders was remanded to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building in lieu of $500.00 cash, $1,000.00 secured bond or $2,000.00 partially secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing and further arrests are expected.
