Carthage man charged with burglary at Kinney Drugs, police say

CARTHAGE, NY —   James R. Washington, 56, of 604 Alexandria St., Carthage, was charged by Carthage police at 12:49 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Kinney Drugs, 410 State St., with third-degree burglary, a felony, and petit larceny.

Mr. Washington is accused of unlawfully entering the store, concealed merchandise and exited the store without attempting to pay at about 2:09 p.m. Oct. 24, according to court documents.

He was arraigned by video before Watertown City Judge Eugene R. Renzi who ordered him held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building without bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Oct. 30.
