CROGHAN, NY — A Carthage man faces felony charges following a traffic stop late Wednesday night in the Town of Croghan, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Kyle S. Sipos, 37, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, after deputies pulled over his 2021 GMC Acadia for failing to stop at a stop sign. Authorities stated that Sipos showed signs of intoxication and subsequently failed field sobriety tests at the scene.
Sipos was transported to the Lewis County Public Safety Building, where he refused chemical testing. Because of prior convictions, he was processed on the following charges:

Felony Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)

Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation

Additional traffic infractions
Following an arraignment at the Town of Lowville CAP Court, Sipos was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Croghan Court at a later date.
