Cindy L. Shirley, 68, Massena

MASSENA, NY —  Cindy L. Shirley, 68, of Kingsley Road passed away on Friday March 31, 2023 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a long illness.

Cindy was born to the late John and Leona (Gillespie) Kellogg on Jan. 1, 1955. Cindy attended Massena schools and soon after meet and married the love of her life, Myron A. Shirley at Advent Christian Church in Massena on December 7, 1974. They began their family shortly thereafter, as she later started to work as a home health aide for cerebral palsy of Canton, NY retiring after many years helping out her community.

Cindy enjoyed to read and cook, taking pride in sharing her meals with friends and family. Her true enjoyment was the times she would spend with her grandchildren. Cindy will be remembered by those who knew her best as for she always was a caring and patient person.

Cindy is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Myron A. Shirley and her daughter; Michelle and husband Thomas Blair of Massena, NY, her grandchildren; Josh and wife Rosalie Blair, and Julia Blair both of Massena, NY, Megan and husband Broadie Woods of Kodiak, AK, great-grandchildren; Brinley Woods and Peyton Blair along with her siblings; Trudy and husband Donny Shirley, Todd Kellogg and companion Lynn Chambers both of Massena, NY and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Cindy was predeceased by her sister Beverly Tyler and brother Chris Kellogg along with a daughter, Stacey Garcia in 2008.

The family of Cindy Shirly, would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff, doctors and nurses at Canton-Potsdam Hospital for all their care and compassion during her extended stay.

There will be no public callings hours at this time. A graveside service in Calvary Cemetery, Massena will take place at the convenience of the family in the summer.
