Clayton man charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs

CLAYTON, NY — Joseph C. Cipullo, 67, of 38814 State Route 12E, Clayton, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies at 11:17 p.m. Thursday, May 2, on Theresa Street in Clayton with driving while ability impaired by drugs and insufficient tail lamps.

Deputies said Mr. Cipullo was observed operating a 2010 Dodge pickup truck towing a black enclosed trailer with no rear tail lamp on the passenger side prompting the traffic stop.

He was transported to the state police barracks in the town of Pamelia where a drug recognition expert determined Mr. Cipullo was under the influence of depressants and alcohol.

He is summoned to appear May 21 in Clayton Village Court.
