CHAUMONT, NY — Clifford F. Loomis Sr., 69, Chaumont, NY passed away Sunday morning at his home with family at his side.
Born Oct. 4, 1949, in Gouverneur, NY, the son of Fred and Charlotte Robbins Loomis, he attended General Brown Central School.
He was married to Linda Ball and that marriage ended in divorce in 1999. He married Rae Ann Johnston on July 20, 2013.
Clifford was a machinist who worked for twenty seven years at New York Air Brake and for twenty years at Stature Electric in Watertown. Â He was a member of the Sons of American Legion of Brownville, the Machinist Union and was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed scrapping.
He is survived by his wife Rae Ann, and two children Deborah and Sean Haley of Brownville, Clifford and Lisa Loomis Jr. of Brownville. Stepchildren are: Amy Rae Hayes of Adams, John Whewell of Marcy, NY. He also has brothers and sister: Lewis Loomis of Felts Mills, Vernon Loomis of Three Mile Bay and sister Mary Alice Snyder of Watertown; grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his dogs Jasper and Maggie Mae also survive.
He was predeceased by a daughter Christine Loomis in 2015 and brothers Claude Loomis and James Loomis and a sister Marjorie Towsley.
There will be no calling hours or funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at the Brownville American Legion.
