Community COVID-19 testing site will extend hours over weekend

LOWVILLE, NY ─  Lewis County Health System will extend the hours of the community drive-thru COVID-19 testing clinic. The testing site will be open Friday, October 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The weekend day for testing will be Sunday, November 1 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. There is no charge for the Abbott BinaxNOW Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Test.

The testing site is located on the main campus in Lowville in parking lot #6, off NYS Route 26. Drive past the Helicopter Landing Zone and  follow the COVID-19 Clinic traffic signs.

Positive test results are reported immediately to Lewis County Public Health who will notify each individual of a positive COVID-19 test result. This is a ‘rapid’ test which is not sent out to a reference lab. Due to the high volumes of COVID testing, individuals with negative results will not receive a call.

All patients requesting testing must be at least eight years of age and will be asked to provide their name, date of birth, physical address, email address, and a phone number to allow for contact tracing and result follow-up.

Members of the community can visit https://www.lcgh.net/coronavirus for additional testing dates and times. Please feel free to check this page often for new information as it becomes available.
