Cynthia J. Bancroft, 61, Carthage

CARTHAGE, NY —   Cynthia J. Bancroft, 61, of 36438 County Route 36, Carthage, NY, passed away suddenly Nov. 4, 2019, at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

Born Jan. 28, 1958, in Waverly, NY, daughter of Shirley Rogers, she attended Tioga Center High School. Following school she married Kenneth J. Bancroft III of Carthage on July 31, 1976. The couple resided in Carthage where they raised their family. Cindy later went to Jefferson Community College and while attending college worked for various retail businesses. 

She has worked for the District Attorney’s office in Watertown as a secretary for the past 19 years.

Ken worked for St. Reis Paper Mill in DeFeriet for 20 years and then worked construction in the local area before retiring.

Cindy was an avid crafter, enjoyed shopping, playing Bingo, and was a committee member for the Lowville Farmers Market.  She was a wonderful mother and wife and was loved by all who knew her.

Among her survivors are her beloved husband of 43 years, Kenneth J. Bancroft III, Carthage, three children, Angela (Gary) Campany, Watertown, Kenneth (Isabelle) Bancroft IV, New Mexico, Jennifer McCusker, Carthage, three brothers and a sister in law, Butch (Donna) Rogers, Owego, NY, Dennis and Donnie Fellhauer, Binghamton, NY, a sister and brother in law, Stephanie (Brian) Russell, Binghamton,7 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at the Bruce Funeral Home, 131 Maple St., Black River.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Black River Cemetery.
