Deborah L. Murtha, 60, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Deborah L. Murtha, 60, a resident at the Samaritan Summit Village passed away May 21, 2022, at Samaritan Medical Center.

Born Oct. 1, 1961, the daughter of James C. and Rickey (Singleton) Murtha, she attended General Brown High School and Jefferson Community College.

Deborah enjoyed making jewelry, crafts, spending time outdoors and with her family and friends, she loved her beloved pets, writing poetry and attending the Renaissance Fair.

Among her survivors are her parents, James and Rickey Murtha, Dexter, NY; three brothers, James (Kelly) Murtha, Theresa, NY, Joseph  Murtha and his companion Shellie Lawlee, Brownville, NY and John (Pamela) Murtha, Black River, NY; a sister-in-law, Frances Murtha, Watertown, NY; several nieces and nephews, Joshua, Nathan, Shannon, Joseph, Ashley, Nicholas and Taylor Murtha and McLean Beyor.

She was predeceased by a brother, Jeffrey  Murtha, and her fiancé, Steven Raycraft.

Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.

A calling hour will be held from 10 a.m. to 11a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Gaffney presiding.

Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church or to the Jefferson County SPCA.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Samaritan Summit Village for their compassion and care given to their daughter and sister while she residing there.
