Debra J. DeLaMarter, 66, Clayton

CLAYTON, NY –  Debra Jean “Deb” DeLaMarter, 66, Clayton, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Upstate University Hospital.

Deb was born on Jan. 28, 1956, in Utica, NY to Alexander Misiaszek and Mary (Lazarek) Misiaszek. She graduated from Oriskany Central School. On April 4, 1977, she married Nelson G. (Guy) DeLaMarter.

Known for her efficiency and diligence, Deb was regarded as a valued employee of several business throughout life. She worked for her family’s restaurant, Alexander’s Inn, before moving on to roles in hospitality management on Brigantine Island, NJ. Upon settling in Clayton NY, she worked at the former Saturn of Watertown and RC Congel’s Boatworks in Alexandria Bay.

In Clayton, Deb enjoyed life “on the river” with Guy. Many happy days were spent boating, jet skiing, cooking and socializing with close friends – usually with Jimmy Buffet providing the soundtrack.  She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. When Guy required long term nursing home residency Debra provided love and care with daily visits. She was a strong source of support to her siblings and friends – a person counted on to get the job done – and a generous and loving aunt to her nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She is survived by her siblings, Alexander Misiaszek and his wife Linda of Chazy, NY, Marilyn Hartman of Westborough, MA, Carlton Misiaszek of Hudson Falls, NY, Kevin Misiaszek of Sarasota, FL, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Guy, on August 22nd, 2021.

A Memorial Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home, Clayton. A Calling Hour will precede from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
