DeKalb Junction man accused of throwing developmentally disabled client

COLTON, NY — On July 20, 2018, State Police arrested 29-year-old Joseph P. Durham of DeKalb Junction following an investigation of abuse at the Cerebral Palsy Center of the North Country in Colton.

Durham, a staff member, allegedly threw a developmentally disabled consumer into a chair by his patient gait vest, troopers said.

The consumer was medically evaluated and found to be uninjured, troopers said.

Durham was charged with first-degree Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent Person.

He was released with an appearance ticket returnable in Pierrepont Town Court.
