Deputies seize 180 pounds of marijuana during traffic stop in DeKalb

CANTON, NY —   Brandy J. Fisher, 26, Moira, and Damon L. Etienne, 22, Hogansburg, were charged on Wednesday, May 13, on US Route 11 in the town of DeKalb with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, following a traffic stop, according to the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.

Fisher and Etienne were found to be in possession of approximately 180 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $360,000, deputies said.

Fisher was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after she was found in possession of a small amount of cocaine, deputies said.

Fisher and Etienne were arraigned before Morristown Town Justice James Phillips and were released on their own recognizance. They are summoned to appear in DeKalb Town Court at a later date.

Deputies were assisted by US Border Patrol.
