CLAYTON, NY — Donna M. Smith, 67, died May 15 at her residence.
There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 5, with Father Arthur Labaff officiating, at 11 a.m. with a burial following in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Born Nov. 18, 1951, in Passaic, New Jersey, a daughter of William B. and Mary Hohman Smith Jr., she graduated from Clifton Senior High School in Clifton, New Jersey. She attended Newark State College and Morris County College, both in New Jersey.
She was a member of the Army National Guard and Reserves from 1977 to 1989.
Donna worked for a number of years as a Paralegal in Rockland County, New York.
She then moved to Clayton, where she enjoyed her time at her cottage on Murray
While in Clayton she worked for a time at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was very active in the church, singing in the choir and helping with fundraisers, including the Holiday Food Fair and the Booster Club.
She was a member of the Coast Guard Ladies Auxiliary, where she also taught
boaters safety courses.
Donna loved her dogs, fishing and playing softball.
Surviving are a brother Edward (Linda) Smith of New Jersey; a sister, Mary Ann
(Kenneth) Whitmore of New Jersey; nieces and nephews.
A brother, David Smith, predeceased her.
