Dr. Pamela K. Strouse Scales, 68, Clayton

CLAYTON, NY  — Dr. Pamela K. Strouse Scales DPM, 68, died Thursday, Sept. 5, at her residence. She had been in ill health.

As per her request, there will be no calling hours or funeral. There will be a Graveside Committal Service at 11 a.m. Sept. 9 in St. Lawrence Union Cemetery, Town of Cape Vincent, with Rev. Earl Lalone officiating.

Pam was born Jan. 28, 1951, in Sacramento, California, the daughter Bluth and Bonnie Pierce. She attended Jefferson Community College from 1991 to 1994, attended Clarkson University from 1994 to 1995, she attended Medical College from 1995 to 1999 at New York College of Podiatric Medicine in NYC.

After completing her residency in foot orthopedics in New Jersey, she returned to Clayton and worked in the Ogdensburg, Gouverneur, Alexandria Bay area as a podiatrist.

A marriage to Keith Strouse ended in divorce.

On Dec. 24, 2010, she married Randy Scales, at their residence, with Reverend Donald Briant officiating.

In her earlier years, Pam was owner and operator of Bay Flower Shop in Alexandria Bay. For a time, she was a member of the Clayton Volunteer Fire Department as an EMT.

While in good health, she enjoyed working in her flower garden, and loved helping everyone in need.

Surviving besides her husband Randy, is her mother Bonnie Pierce of Arizona; a son, Brent (Jennifer) Beven, Oregon; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; one brother, Carter Pierce; a sister, Mrs. John (Carmen) Saunders of California; nieces and nephews.
