Drug Task Force: $75,000 worth of drugs seized from vehicle in town of Philadelphia

WATERTOWN, NY —  The Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force released the following statement on Sept. 16, 2021:

“On 09/15/21, at about 11:00am, members of the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force
assisted road patrol deputies with a drug investigation in the Town of Philadelphia.

Investigation lead to a search warrant being obtained for a 2020 Kia sedan and the
sole occupant, Dwight Williford (age 37, Philadelphia, PA).

At the conclusion of the search 17 ounces of methamphetamine and 9 ounces
of cocaine were seized. The contraband had an estimated street value of
approximately $75,000.

Mr. Williford was subsequently charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third-degree.

He was arraigned in the village of Carthage Court by the Honorable Justice Mushtare and was released pending further court action.

At this time, this is an on-going investigation. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s
Office and the Watertown Police Department assisted in this investigation.”
