Edward F. Cross, 60, Henderson

HENDERSON, NY — Edward “Ted” F. Cross, 60, Henderson, passed away suddenly Saturday, April 20, 2019, at the Samaritan Medical Center.

Born Nov. 4, 1958, in Watertown, a son of Edward F. and Marie J. Cross, he attended Belleville Union Academy until he left to enter the work field.

Ted married the love of his life, Goldie “Marie” Cross on Nov. 30, 1975, at the Ellisburg Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Ted worked most of his life with his father in the family heating business and later he worked for himself helping people in any way that they may need. When he wasn’t working he loved to be outdoors. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed nothing more than sharing that passion with his children and his grandchildren. He was so proud of each of his grandchildren and all of their accomplishments and he also enjoyed being the person to teach them how to hunt. Even if that meant taking them out to the woods and walking for miles to find the right place to sit. His son, Ed, was his best friend and favorite hunting partner.

Ted is survived by his loving wife, Marie, his parents, Ted and Marie, Henderson; his children, Shirley and David Ferguson, Henderson; Ed and Roxanne Cross, Adams and Jessy Cross, Missouri. His beloved grandchildren, Jazmine (Tyler) Sallee, Kylesha Ferguson, Colin Cross, Skylar Cross, Brittan Cross and Ashton Cross A.K.A. Marvin.

Also surviving are his two sisters, Elsie and Carl Henry, Linda Cross Berry and his two brothers, William and Barbara Cross, Arthur and Nancy Cross and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Belleville Fire hall. Anyone who would like to attend and share your stories with the family are welcome.
