BLACK RIVER — Elaine D. Schloeder, 81, formerly of Black River, died Friday, June 29, 2018, at the Seneca Hill Manor Nursing Home in Oswego.
Born October 1, 1936, in West Carthage, the daughter of Carlton J. and Hazel E. Petrie Blackwell, she graduated from West Carthage High School with the Class of 1954.
She was primarily a homemaker.
A marriage to John Schloeder ended in divorce.
Elaine is survived by her children; John, North Carolina, Paul, Black River, David and Diane, North Carolina, along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Blackwell of West Carthage.
She was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Schvarcz.
A funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018, in the chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage, with Pastor Thom Sherwood officiating. Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Black River Cemetery.
