Emma J. Wood, 93, Carthage

CARTHAGE, NY –  Emma J. Wood, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, Nov. 23, 2020, at the Carthage Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.

Born Jan. 25, 1927, in Carthage, NY, a daughter of the late William and Nora (Bull) Barlow, she graduated from Carthage High School.

She worked as an officer manager for Dr. Kahn in Carthage for many years.

 

On June 15, 1946, she married Jack J. Wilton. Jack preceded her in death.

On Sept. 6, 1975, she married Ivan Wood. He later passed away.

Emma loved her flowers, puzzles and dancing.

Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family at gatherings.

Emma is survived by her three children, Patricia (Al) McMannama of Maine; Cheryl (Pete) Rogers of Black River; and Georgia (Randy) Slye of Williamsburg, West Virginia; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by two sons, Michael Wilton who died in 1984 and William Wilton who died on June 18, 2019, as well as a grandson Stephen Wilton-Terry who died on March 6, 2017.

A private burial will be held later in Fairview Cemetery in Carthage.
