WEST LEYDEN, NY — Griffith I. Black, 23, of 8705 Cemetery Road, Evans Mills, was cited by Lewis County sheriff’s deputies at 9:53 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, on Route 26 in West Leyden with speeding, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Mr. Black was stopped for speeding 48 mph in a 30 mph zone. While being interviewed, deputies said they noticed numerous open beer cans and a water pipe which contained marijuana in the rear of the vehicle.

He is ordered to appear in Lewis Town Court at a later date.
