CARTHAGE, NY —Â State Police in Carthage are investigating a motorcycle crash that occurred near the intersection of State Route 3 and Jackson II Road in the town of Champion, Jefferson County.
An investigation has revealed, on October 27, 2022, at approximately 6 p.m., Travis M. Skowron (37), Felt Mills, NY, was operating an unregistered 2006 Suzuki sport motorcycle, when he failed to negotiate a right turn, left the roadway, and struck a tree. Speed appears to be a contributing factor.
Skowron was ejected from the motorcycle and was transported by Carthage Ambulance to Carthage Area Hospital and then transferred to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with a life-threatening head injury.
The investigation is continuing.
