Location: 429 Stone St.

Companies responding: Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Truck 1, Chief 3

Narrative: City of Watertown Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 429 Stone St. at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Feb. 4, 2022. Crews found fire on the second floor of a duplex building with smoke extended through the building. The fire was quickly contained leaving damage to one side of the duplex. The other side of the duplex was unoccupied. Currently, the fire is under investigation to determine cause. The Red Cross assisted one adult and two children with temporary housing. The Watertown Police Department, Guilfoyle Ambulance, Fort Drum Fire Department, National Grid and Watertown Code Enforcement assisted on scene.

American Red Cross Aids Three After Watertown Fire

WATERTOWN, NY  – Volunteers from the Central & Northern New York Chapter of the American Red Cross provided immediate emergency aid to three people after a fire Friday on Stone Street in Watertown. Jefferson County.

The Red Cross provided financial assistance for necessities such as shelter, food and clothing to one adult and two children, ages 6 and 11. Volunteers also offered health services and emotional support. In the coming days, Red Cross staff and volunteers will remain available to help those affected by the fire as they navigate the road to recovery.
