ADAMS CENTER, NY — The funeral service for Frances E. Damon will be held 10 a.m. Sunday, April 14, 2019, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Deacon Edward Miller officiating. Following the service, a burial will be held in the Edwards Cemetery. Calling hours will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.
Frances passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, with her family by her side. She was 89 years old.
Born March 26, 1930, in Edwards, NY, a daughter of Abner H. and Marian Wood Rice, she graduated from Edwards High School.
Frances married Philip Damon on Dec. 3, 1955, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. Mr. Damon passed away in August 2001.
Mrs. Damon worked as a secretary for several years at Damon Tax Service. Frances greatest joy was her family and her faith in Jesus. She enjoyed playing bingo as well.
She is survived by her children; Suzanne Damon, W. Va; Teresa Brethen, Fla; Frederic (Linda) Damon, Adams Center; Jacqueline (Ronald) Mack, MS; Daniel (Michele) Damon, NJ; her grandchildren, Christopher Pierson, Lisa Willis, Jessica Nunez, Justin Brethen, Stephanie Brethen, Kyle Rothwell, Joshua Damon, Philip Damon, Hannah Christman, Abigail Allen, Thomas Mack, Amy Mack, Wyatt Damon, Jesse Damon and 31 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her 3 sisters, Margaret McIntosh, Elizabeth Rose, Sharon Horne; a sister-in-law, Lucille Rowe, her brother and sister-in-law, Deacon Edward and Genevieve Damon Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, Frances was predeceased by her siblings, Barbara Jean McIntosh, Roseline Davis, Silas Rice, Donna Soper and Edwin Rice.
