WATERTOWN, NY — The memorial service for Gail D. Schwalm will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Emmanuel Congregational Church, 119 S. Hamilton St., Watertown, Pastor Jane Wagner officiating.
Burial will be held at the convenience of her family in Dexter Cemetery. A calling hour beginning at 3:00 p.m. will precede the service at the church.
Gail passed away Monday, July 29, at Samaritan Medical Center. She was 62 years old.
Born March 2, 1957, in Star Lake, Gail was a daughter to Howard and Marie (Dashnaw) Christian. She was educated at Clifton Fine Central School in Star Lake and later received her GED. Gail worked at the First Steps Daycare at Chaumont’s Christian Life Center. More recently, Gail was employed as Sexton at Emmanuel Congregational Church.
Gail enjoyed gardening, cooking, mission trips with Emmanuel Congregational Church, and animals. She loved flowers and plants and used to own and operate her own greenhouse.
She is survived by her son, Donald “DJ” (fiancée Mariah Dekin) Schwalm of Watertown; her siblings, Robert and Darlene Christian of Hermon, Peter Christian of Dickinson Center, Kim Christian of Adams, Sarah and Robert Bancroft of Chaumont; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Gail was predeceased by her husband, Norman Schwalm; two siblings, Gary Christian, Donna Christian; and two stepchildren, Annette Schwalm, David Schwalm.
