General Brown Central School District announces Class of 2021 leaders

DEXTER, NY —  General Brown Central School District is proud to announce the academic leaders of the Class of 2021.

Allyson Wargo has been named valedictorian, and Libby Malcolm is the salutatorian. In addition, Ashley LaMarche has been named 2021 Outstanding Vocational Student.

Wargo has an academic average of 97.84. She is the president of National Honor Society and an active participant of International Club and Math League.

Wargo has been a four-year member of the varsity softball team. She was a three-year team captain and Frontier League All-Star. She also was selected a 2019 Class B Section 3 All-Star selection. She has earned an athletic scholarship for softball at Assumption University.

Wargo has remained on the high honor roll during all four years of high school and was selected as a 7 News Academic All-Star this year. She actively volunteers in her community.

She plans to attend Assumption University in the fall to double major in psychology and criminal justice. She is the daughter of Joseph and Khrista Wargo of Watertown.

Malcolm has an academic average of 96.939. She is an active participant of National Honor Society, International Club, and Math League.

Malcom has been a four-year member of the soccer team, two at the varsity level. She also was a three-year member of the varsity lacrosse team and was a member of the volleyball team.

Malcom has remained on the high honor roll during all four years of high school. She actively volunteers in her community and is a peer tutor.

She plans to attend Jefferson Community College for a year and then transfer to St. John Fisher College to pursue a degree in pharmaceutical studies. She is the daughter of Jesse and Richelle Malcolm.

LaMarche has a GPA of 93.887, which places her 10th out of 94 students in the class. She is graduating with an Advanced Regents Diploma and is a member of the National Honor Society.

LaMarche has an average of 98 in the Early Childhood Education Program at BOCES. She has remained on the Honor Roll during her first three years of high school and has been on the High Honor Roll her senior year. She has also participated in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Chorus and International Club at General Brown. She has been president of FCCLA for all four years. She actively volunteers in her community and through her church.

LaMarche plans to attend Jefferson Community College in the fall for two years and then transfer to Keuka College to pursue a degree in school psychology. She is the daughter of Robert and Tina LaMarche of Dexter.
