CHAUMONT, NY — George A. Day Jr., 85 of Weaver Road, Chaumont, passed away at his home early Saturday morning with his family by his side.
Born June 22, 1934, in Watertown, the son of George and Ruth Chaney Day Sr., he attended school in Watertown and later served in the Army National Guard.
He married Bethel M. Brown on June 30, 1956, in Depauville.
George owned and operated George Day Floor Covering. He enjoyed farming, gardening, canning food, fishing and spending time with his family.
He was a member of Victory Church of Chaumont and Agape Church of LaFargeville.
George is survived by his wife Bethel and three children; George (Beaver) Day 3 Rd of Crystal River, Florida, Bethel ( Bethie) Faciane of LaFargeville and Sarena Wright of Chaumont;13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great- great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly of Burville;Â nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Lortie, and a brother, Charles Day.
A Celebration of Life will be held 3 p.m. July 7, 2019, at the Agape Church of LaFargeville. There will be no calling hours.
