At 5:07 AM EST, a band of lake effect snow producing snow fall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour will continue across southern Jefferson County from Mannsville to Adams. A weaker band will extend inland into northern Lewis County. This band of snow will remain nearly stationary. Travel will be extremely difficult in this band of heavy snow. If you must travel, be prepared for severe winter driving conditions with deep snow cover on roads and very poor visibility. This includes Interstate 81 between exits 39 and 47. Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time when traveling.
