Grace J. Shepley, 78, Florida

ORANGE CITY, FL —  Grace June Shepley, 78, of Orange City, FL, passed away on Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, at Orange City Nursing and Rehab after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

She was born on Dec. 1, 1943, in Watertown, NY, the daughter of Arthur and Sarah Mack. Grace was a graduate of General Brown Central school as well as SUNY at Oswego, where she received a degree in teaching.

Grace worked for Trinity Christian Academy in Deltona, FL, she taught grades 4-6. Grace loved teaching generations of students and received numerous awards for her teaching excellence.

Grace’s family was most important to her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and spoiling them.

Grace loved to travel and was fortunate to visit many states as well as countries. She lived in Thailand (Where her daughter, Allawan Aletha, was born.). Grace lived in California, Washington, New York and ultimately Florida as well as visiting Japan and Canada.

Grace is survived by her three Children: A. E. Joseph (Wife-Lisa; granddaughter- Madeline; grandson-Joseph); Ealania (Moore) (Husband -Tony; grandson-Brian Latulip (wife-Melissa; great-granddaughter-Alana Grace; granddaughter -Sarah Latulip (Deceased 2017); great-granddaughter-Aliyah); Allawan Aletha Shepley; six siblings-Arthur Mack (Susan); Gary Mack (Yoshiko); Joseph Mack (Linda); Edison Mack; Elizabeth (Mack) Brenon (Charles); and Rosemary Mack.

She was preceded in heaven by her parents (Arthur and Sarah), sister-in-law (Yoshiko) and granddaughter (Sarah Rose).

Per Grace’s wishes, she will be cremated. She will be buried with her parents at the cemetery on County Rte. 16 in Watertown, NY.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Mack cottage in Sackets Harbor on the weekend of Aug. 4, 2023.
