CARTHAGE, NY — Gregory J. Gurnett, 53, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Carthage, NY, died unexpectedly on Feb. 12, 2019, in Ocala, Florida.
Born Feb. 17, 1965, Greg attended Carthage Schools thru his junior year and graduated from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1983. He attended Scottsdale Community College, Arizona State University and the University of West Florida, Pensacola.
He was an accomplished jazz pianist and was a featured soloist in the World Jazz Festival in Wegan, England.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Marilyn Gurnett of Sun City West, Arizonal three sisters, Karen (Jeffrey) Robinson of Mesa, Arizona, Martha (Alex) Waicelunas of Peoria, Arizona and Tracy (Brad) Roosma of Austin, Texas; three nieces and two grand nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas F. Gurnett, formerly of Carthage.
