Born Dec. 14, 1943, in Lowville, a son of the late Edward and Daisy Northrup Moody, he attended country school in Harrisburg and Lowville Academy and worked on area farms.

On July 6, 1963, he married Nora E. Foote at the Lowville United Methodist Church with Rev. Malabar officiating.

He worked for AMF and Payne Jones in Lowville. He was a self-taught carpenter and worked for Harold Loukes for several years before going to work for Kraft Foods in Lowville for 25 years, retiring in 1998. Harold owned and operated his own construction company, Bull and Haul Builders, constructing many barns, garages, porches, camps, and re-modeling many homes throughout the area.

Harold was a member of Lewis County Memorial Post #6912 Auxiliary. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. He loved his children and grandchildren. His second home was Lloyd’s of Lowville. He also loved spending time on the hill at camp. Dad was a tough love parent with his children, which taught us to do the same.

He is survived by his wife, Nora; his children, Harold Peter Moody Jr. and his companion Tammy Hudson of Glenfield, Paula J. and Todd Bates of Gouverneur; four grandchildren, Ashleigh Rene McCauley, Taylor Kimberleigh Moody, Kayleigh Amber Moody, and Jackson Oliver Bates; two great- grandchildren, Leionni Tiffany Battle and Malia Haven Battle; his siblings, Raymond and Sandy Moody of Lowville; John and Linda Moody of Carthage; Barbara and Doug Cobb of Fairfield, NJ; Mary Card of Watertown; Joan and John Lorow of Lowville; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
