Helen A. Sech, 86, Champion

CHAMPION — Helen A. Sech, 86, of 34000 Lamb Road, Champion, died peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 19, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born Dec. 31, 1931, in Tylerville, a daughter of the late Gerald and Ruth (Paris) Gregg, she was a graduate of Copenhagen Central School.

She worked a short time for Agricultural Insurance Company in Watertown, NY.

She married the love of her life, Francis H. Sech, on Jan. 20, 1951, at the Community Baptist Church in South Rutland, NY. They were married for 68 years. They dedicated their life to farming and raising their family in the hamlet of Champion.

She was the secretary/treasurer of Hillside Cemetery in Champion for many years.

Together they raised two sons of whom she was extremely proud of.  They include John (Cathy) Sech and Stanley (Cindy) Sech both of Champion. She especially enjoyed seeing her grandchildren:  Brian, Wayne (Shannon), Amber, William (Chloe), Jennifer and Matthew (Mariah). Her great grandchildren: Julia, Jack, Emma, Jude, Sami, Stella, Ford, Sofia and Harper.

She was predeceased by her parents, Gerald and Ruth Gregg, and a sister and brother-in -law, Geraldine and Gilbert O’Dell.

A private graveside service in Hillside Cemetery, Champion will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
