IHC elementary school shifts to remote learning on Nov. 16

Dear IHC Community,

On Friday, November 13, Jefferson County Public Health notified Immaculate Heart Central that a student at the elementary building tested positive for COVID-19. IHC is working collaboratively with Jefferson County Public Health to support the contract tracing process according to their protocols. Jefferson County Public Health officials are continuing to communicate with any students or staff found to be in close contact with a positive case.

For the contact tracing process to continue and allow for continued cleaning and disinfecting of the elementary building, IHC elementary will have remote learning on Monday, November 16, for all PreK – 6 th grade students. Please have your child log into Google Classroom tomorrow for instructions from their teacher.

In-person instruction will resume on Tuesday, November 17. However, if you were contacted by Public Health and your child was asked to quarantine, please notify the elementary school office. Your child should continue with virtual learning through the quarantine period. Parents who have students in quarantine can pick up their books, supplies, and a Chromebook (if needed) on Monday, November 16. Please contact the main office before coming.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this process. We will continue to work together to ensure the safety of our students and staff moving forward.

Sincerely,

Daniel Charlebois, Principal

Amy Mitchell, Vice-Principal
