Increased activity and noise levels anticipated on Fort Drum Range 48 during aviation training

FORT DRUM, NY – The New York National Guard’s 174^th Attack Wing will conduct aviation training at Fort Drum on March 22 and again March 28-31.

Throughout the evening on March 22, A-10 aircraft will be training in the area. The munitions being used during this event emit a very bright, trailing light that can remain in the sky for several moments. Residents in the surrounding areas may observe these lights during the training.

During the training beginning on March 28, several large munitions will be used, including heavy bomb drops. Community members can expect elevated noise levels from the training on these dates, especially those who live or work near Range 48.
