Indian River High School names new principal

Dear Indian River Community,

With great #WarriorPride, we are pleased to announce that the IRCSD Board of Education appointed Mrs. Morgan Pratt Neaves as the next Principal of Indian River High School! Through our rigorous selection process with multiple highly-qualified candidates, it became clear that Mrs. Pratt Neaves’ experience as a teacher and leader, her deep dedication to education, and her commitment to all students make her the right choice now and into the future. Thank you to everyone involved in the selection process.

Mrs. Pratt Neaves started her career as a teacher in 2009 and joined the Indian River team in 2015. While at IRHS, Mrs. Pratt Neaves taught a range of Social Studies classes and served as a District-Wide Instructional Coach before moving to the Intermediate School and then back to the High School, distinguishing herself in both buildings in the role of Assistant Principal. She has served on and/or facilitated a variety of building and district committees including Strategic Planning, Professional Development, Health and Safety, and various instructional task forces. She believes in inspiring all students from all backgrounds to work towards success, and states, “One of the pleasures of working for the Indian River Central School District is that the faculty and staff believe in quality education and are dedicated to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to learn.”

As shared before, times of transition can bring with them great uncertainty, yet they are also inherently full of opportunity. Let this latest shift stand as testament to our Warrior spirit—we are passionate about education, we have endured many challenges, and now we are emerging stronger than ever, learning together, and together to learn. #WeAreIR!

Congratulations, Mrs. Pratt Neaves, and congratulations to all members of our Indian River Central School community on this exciting and truly historic news!

With great pride,

Troy Decker
