LAFARGEVILLE, NY — James F. Ellis, Jr., 64, of Hunter Road, LaFargeville, NY, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 at home.
Born Nov. 3, 1954, in Watertown, NY, a son of James F. and Dorothy M. Diehl Ellis, he graduated in 1972 from South Jefferson High School.
James married Candace A. Lader on Sept. 9, 2000, in Alexandria Bay, NY. The couple has lived on the Hunter Rd. all their married life.
He worked at various local farms and Capts Landing, Alexandria Bay, NY, until he was unable to, due to ill health.
Survivors include his wife, Candace; three sons, James David Ellis, Evan Merrihew and Michael Robinson; two grandchildren, Marri Merrihew and Jakob Merrihew; a brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Betty Jo Ellis, LaFargeville, NY; a sister, Shirley Stephens, Watertown, NY; several nieces and nephews.
His parents, a brother, Charles F. Ellis and a sister, Joyce R. Taylor, all died previously.
A Celebration of Life service will be at a later date.
