Janet S. Lupia, 90, formerly of Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG, NY — Janet S. Lupia, 90, a long-time resident of Ogdensburg, a place she continued to hold dear to her heart, died in Venice, Florida on Nov. 17, 2018.

The daughter of Kenneth C. Rogers and Eva (Charlesbois) Rogers, she was born on June 28, 1928, in Washington, DC and grew up on a farm outside of Watertown, NY.

She was predeceased by her husband Eugene E. Lupia Sr., a son, Edward E. Lupia and a brother, John C. Rogers.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ellen (Lupia) O’Sullivan and Gary O’Sullivan of Siesta Key, FL and her son, Eugene E. Lupia, Jr. and his wife, Christine (Montroy) Lupia, of Venice, FL, and a brother, Jean C. Rogers of Watertown, NY.  She leaves behind grandchildren, Jennifer Lupia of Fairfax, VT, Brandon Lupia of Baltimore, MD, Adam Lupia of Hilton, NY, Ian Lupia of Watertown, NY, and Rachel Lupia of Venice, FL as well as several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

As a child, Janet attended a one room school house; graduated salutatorian of her class in Sackets Harbor (NY) High School and earned an associates degree from ATI (now SUNY Canton) in Canton, NY.  For decades, she served as the Secretary-Treasurer of Lupia Electrical Supply, Inc.

Janet was an active part of the Ogdensburg community leading Brownie and Girl Scout troops, a long-time member and past-president of the Ogdensburg Zonta Club.

Donations may be made to the or the Diocese of Ogdensburg’s Bishop Fund or the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club.

Funeral services be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at St. Mary’s Chapel at 10:00AM. Burial will be held this coming summer in Ogdensburg at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
