JCC student accused of starting fire in residence hall bathroom, police say

WATERTOWN, NY —  Destiny Diamond Gonzalez, 19, of 3525 Perry Ave., Apt. 7G, Bronx, NY, turned herself into Watertown police at 8:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and was charged with fourth-degree arson, a felony, and fifth-degree arson, a misdemeanor.

Ms. Gonzalez is accused of intentionally starting a fire in the bathroom of a Jefferson Community College residence hall, 775 Rand Dr., Room 309B, which caused damage to the white Bath Fitter free standing acrylic shower base and shower surround at about 9:30 p.m. April 27, according to court documents.

She was held for arraignment in City Court.
