COLLINS LANDING — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident that occurred on the Thousand Islands Bridge overnight.
At approximately 11:15 p.m. on October 23rd, JCSO responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle on the bridge, prompting an hours-long shutdown of both lanes of travel while law enforcement, fire personnel, and the Coast Guard conducted a search of the area.
The bridge has since reopened, however the investigation is ongoing.
There is no threat to the public and we cannot release further information at this time.
