Jeanne M. Shoulette, 68, Redwood

REDWOOD, NY — Jeanne M. Shoulette, 68, of County Route 192, Redwood, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at SUNY Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, NY.

Born on March 25, 1950, in Watertown, NY, a daughter of Robert Charles and Kathleen Mildred Hodge Shoulette, she graduated from Alexandria Bay Central School in 1968 and from the BOCES Nursing Program.

Jeanne was a waitress for more than 40 years, working at various local restaurants, Manett’s Breakfast Club and Country Cottage, both in Alexandria Bay, NY, Denny’s Restaurant, Watertown, NY, Indian River Diner, Perry Twins Diner, and Sam’s Grill, all in Theresa, NY.  She also worked for Volunteer Transportation for the past 10 years.

She married Philip R. Thomas on December 31, 2013 in Alexandria Bay, NY.  A previous marriage to James Humphrey ended in divorce.

Jeanne was a member of the Redwood Ambulance, Redwood Ladies Auxiliary and Redwood Fire Dept., and was a Commissioner of the Fire Dept. for 10 years.

She enjoyed knitting, fishing for bullheads, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Philip; four children, a daughter, Lisa Humphrey, Redwood, NY, a son, Michael Humphrey, Redwood, NY, a daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Todd Evans, Athens, Ontario, Canada, a daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Jessie Scheer, Philadelphia, NY; four grandchildren, Zachary Evans, Kiana Evans, Meagan Bennett and husband, Kenneth, and Taylor Hall Scheer; four great-grandchildren, Mason Evans, Emerson Jacques, Kaisley Bennett and Rhett Bennett; a brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Lynn Shoulette, Redwood, NY; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Connie Shoulette, Watertown, NY, Colleen and John Henderson, Philadelphia, NY; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Her parents, a son, Robert Humphrey and a great-granddaughter, Kimber Bennett all died previously.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at the Redwood Fire Hall, with Rev. Gene Brown, officiating.
