Jerry J. Hanlon, 55, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Jerry J. Hanlon, 55, of Coleman Avenue, Watertown, died July 3, 2019, at Samaritan Medical Center as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Born Aug. 21, 1963, in Watertown, a son of Patrick and Francine Gullo Hanlon, he graduated in 1981 from Watertown High School and attended Geneseo College.

Jerry married Marisa Marfori on March 23, 2007, in North Myrtle Beach, SC. The marriage was blessed at St. Anthony’s Church by Rev. Donald Robinson in 2009.

He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Eisenhower during the Gulf War. He was honorably discharged.

Jerry was a correction officer for three years in Albany, worked the front desk at the Econo Lodge Motel in Watertown and currently was a ramp supervisor and gate agent for American Airlines at Watertown International Airport.

Jerry was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, a member of the VFW Post #1400 and was an avid golfer. He belonged to many golf leagues and was a former member of the Willowbrook Golf Club.

Surviving besides his parents and wife are a brother, Sean, Rochester; two nieces, Amanda Thomas and Meredith Carpe; a great nephew, Chase Carpe; and several cousins.

His brother, Patrick, died at the age of 13.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 8, at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at St. Anthony’s Church with Rev. Christopher Looby officiating and Rev. Donald Robinson Con celebrating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery at a later date.
