JoAnn M. Burriss, 63, Lowville

LOWVILLE, NY — JoAnn M. Burriss, 63, of Erie Canal Road, Lowville, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2018, at SUNY Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at Beaches Bridge Cemetery, Watson, with Rev. Mr. Ron Pominville officiating. There will be no calling hours or funeral service.

Born July 7, 1955, in Lowville, NY, a daughter of the late Albert Dicob and Betty Clark Dicob Boliver, she graduated from Beaver River Central School in 1973. While in high school she attended Glenfield B.O.C.E.S. for nursing.

She worked for Lewis County General Hospital as an LPN from 1982 -2005.

JoAnn enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and crocheting. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

JoAnn was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lowville.

She is survived by her two children, Roger Burriss and his wife Lindsay of Beaver Falls, and Bobbi Jo Burriss and Lee Stewart of Goose Creek, SC; five grandchildren, Derek, Clarissa, Shyanne, Joseph and Sarah; five great-grandchildren, Dalton, Denim, Carter, Sophie and Darren; her lifelong friend Tina Renodin; her siblings and their spouses, Francis and Elke Dicob of Lowville, John and Brenda Dicob of Lowville, Barbara Dicob and Michelle Murphy of Keystone Heights, FL, Mary and Joe Dutton of Castorland; a sister-in-law, Michelle Dicob of Copenhagen; Robert and Cheryl Dicob of Glenfield; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many cousins.

She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Dicob, a great-granddaughter, Elaina Marie Briot, and a special nephew, Scott Dicob.
