JOB SUMMARY: The Water Quality Supervisor performs a variety of fully skilled tasks and duties associated with the management, treatment, operation, maintenance, and repair of Water and Wastewater Facilities. The Water Quality Supervisor’s primary responsibility is for the day-to-day operations of the assigned water and/or wastewater facility in accordance with the Authority’s contractual obligations and with federal and state regulations and guidelines. The Water Quality Supervisor secondary responsibilities are to assist Operators with their respective tasks and duties, as necessary.

EDUCATION: 2-year degree in engineering, environmental science, engineering or related field required; 4-year degree in engineering, environmental science or related field preferred.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: The incumbent shall maintain the
appropriate levels of certification and New York State license required by NYSDOH and NYSDEC for the facility they will be assigned to oversee.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of four years directly related experience in water/wastewater treatment/operations. Minimum of two years in a supervisory role. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be deemed acceptable.
