MANNSVILLE, NY —Â John P. Davis passed on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at home under the care or his daughter Kathryn Strader and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Born April 2, 1932, at home in Waddington, NY, the son of John L . and Jane Pritchard Davis, he graduated from LaPorte Indiana High School.
The family moved to Mannsville in 1950 to open Route 11 Plating. John took over the business from his father. He retired in 1996.
He married Phyllis L Littlefield at the Belleville Methodist Church on July 12, 1952. They enjoyed traveling, flea markets and Camp.
John is survived by his daughter Kathryn, four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, Selena and Jason Mulgrew with Patrick and Elise of Montclair, NJ;Â John Strader and his companion Jennifer Coates with Zachary of Middleborough ,MA; Sarah and Andrew Superior with Autumn, Harper, Sawyer and Juliet of California, MD; and Kevin and Leah (Fountain) Strader with Wyatt, Amelia and Nora of Mannsville, NY. Also surviving is his sister Gertrude Powell, Lenoir, NC and his Fresh Air son Eddie Diaz, Brooklyn, NY.
Over the years his many nieces and nephews enjoyed their summers at Uncle Johns.
John is predeceased by his wife, his son John, brother Donald Davis and sister Lynnette Saliwanchik.
We will gather at Camp during the summer of  2021 to Celebrate John’s life.
