WATERTOWN, NY – Katherine M. Buchal, 87, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown.
Katherine was born April 11, 1931, in Theresa, NY, to the late Leo McKeever and Erma Swartout McKeever.
In 1952 Katherine married Edward Buchal. Edward passed in 1985.
Katherine attended and graduated from Cape Vincent Central School in 1948 before attending Watertown school of commerce where she graduated in 1949. Katherine worked at Agricultural Insurance Company in Watertown from 194 to 1953, before working in the Watertown School District as a secretary for 20 years, retiring in 1990.
Katherine volunteered for the Office of the Aging, and the Sisters of St. Joseph. She also attended St. Patrick’s church in Watertown.
Her hobbies included sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, and traveling.
Katherine is survived by two sons, Thomas (Mary) Buchal, Moravia, NY, and Timothy (Dawn) Buchal, Poughkeepsie, NY; a daughte, Leisa (Raphael “Buzz”) Mangino, St. Johns, FL; four grandchildren, Timothy Buchal, Shannon Buchal, Rebecca (Caleb) Wagner, and Anthony Mangino; and two great-grandchildren: Avery Katherine and Maddyx Adeline.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a brother, James, and two sisters, Anne Devlen, and Karen Lawton.
A memorial service and burial will take place at a later date.
